Ovine ESTs

As of May 2009 there are 323,866 ovine ESTs at NCBI. These include 129,000 AgResearch ESTs derived from 36 separate tissue libraries that were sequenced on contract by MWG. A further 113,910 EST sequences derived from 14 separate tissues generated by Genesis Research and Development Corporation Ltd were deposited in early May with ISGC assistance.

The latest publicly available EST contig build (26th June 2008) consists of 207,881 ESTs and 1763 transcripts and is available at the Gene Index Project and has 51,399 unique output sequences.

A further 113,910 EST sequences derived from 14 separate tissues and generated by Genesis Research and Development Corporation Ltd will soon be deposited in NCBI with ISGC assistance. This will bring the total to more than 324,000 ESTs.
